HP Pavilion A405n PC
MS 6577 v3.1 motherboard
ATX 250-122 Revision D. Bestec power supply
built in video
Came in this morning to the following and would appreciate any advice on how to proceed:
No display
blue light on power switch flashing
unplug unit and blue light stops
Green light on back of p/s flashing
Unplug unit and green light flashes slower and slower
No fluke meter so I took the p/s to Fry's
They tell me the p/s is good
Reinstall power supply and pc powers up I can feel the HD spooling when I touch it and fan runs, still no display signal (Verified monitor and cable are good)
Later on today
Plug in power and monitor, green light and blue light flashing again.
Remove power and Unplug all components (i.e. HD, CD-ROM, CD burner, floppy, etc)
reconnect power and lights start flashing, unplug motherboard and green power supply light goes solid green. Add MB back to power supply and green light flashes... pressed power switch and the proc fan tried to spin for a second then nothing... green light still flashing...
Any ideas? Frys tested the p/s with no load on it other than the the p/s fan so I am skeptical but do not have a spare p/s and can not afford to purchase both p/s and m/b if only one is needed.
Thanks you all in advance!
