I am wanting to upgrade from 512 to 2 gig. Recently bought two 1 gig Samsung they fit in the slots but won't boot up. This is what was on the description.
Manufacturer (Chip) Part Number: Samsung K4H1G0838A-TCCC
Product Description:
Speed - DDR400 (PC-3200)
Component Part Number: K4H1G0838A-TCCC
Type: 128 MB x 8
CL: 3.0
Synchronous Features with Data Strobe allow Extremely High Performance up to
400 MB/S per pin
VDD : 2.6V!O 0.1V, VDDQ : 2.6V!O 0.1V for DDR400
Is this the wrong memory? Is there a way to make it work?
I just replaced the motherboard as my son fed it some iced tea.
Upgraded from a 64 to a 256 video card. Put in a wireless card.
Upgraded from 2.8GHZ to 3.4GHZ It works great with the old memory. Bought the 2Gig Samsung on E-Bay. Used, cheap, but no guarantee. Maybe got what I paid for.
Anyway got a little nervous after the rebuild and then it wouldn't boot up. I'm using the old 512 and it works fine, just would like to complete the upgrade.
This is an xps gen 1.
Dell XPS C2291 motherboard with 3.4 GHZ proc.
Radeon 9800 256
Just use it for personal use at home.
