So I'm building a gaming pc. I know a lot about software but I'm kind of a noob when it comes to hardware so I need some help picking out parts. This is my very tentative list so far of the major parts (not including burner, monitor, case etc). Please tell me what you think of it or if I should change anything. My max budget for the entire computer is about $1100.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.80GHz / 2MB Cache / 1000MHz (2000 MT/s) FSB / Windsor / Dual Core / Socket AM2 / Processor with Fan - $163
Motherboard: Gigabyte M61SME-S2 NVIDIA Socket AM2 MicroATX Motherboard / Audio / Video / PCI Express / 10/100 Ethernet LAN / USB 2.0 / Serial ATA / RAID - $60
Memory: Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz E.P.P. Memory (2 x 1024) - $120
Hard Drive: Seagate / 320GB / 7200 / 16MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive - $90
Video Card: XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB SLI PCIe Video Card - $300
And one thing thats really confusing me is why some 2GB RAM is a really lot more than other 2GM RAM (DDR2). I know the answer is probably really simple. thanks.
