Freezing

My friggin' computer freezes evry so often when i use AIM, and it wasn't like this until all of these spy ware and ad ware programs and detections were on my computer. how do i stop the freezing?

Did you run a full scan wit the anti-spy programs you mentioned?

yes i did and the freezing died down a bit

Go to start>run
type: msconfig

And remove unneccesary items in the startup and services sections. Ask here if you are not sure about one of them.

What anti-spyware apps do you use????

How much memory do you have????

well it's not freezing anymore but now the ScanDisc and DiskDefragmentor will get restarted for no reason it'll get to like 10% and then start again.

What os are you using

Windows 98 and Me need to be in safe mode to defrag!!!!!
That could be the problem
Windows XP shouldn't freeze up, but if it hasn't been done in a while it will take all night....

You need to disable your Antivirus and Firewall
If you have broadband, don't worry, just unplug your cable....
Also, that could be your problem

Also need to disable any screensaver, or that will cause the processes to start over.
