No I'm not mocking you, sorry if it seemed that way.
I was implying that the OP was unlikely to place any drive configuration under conditions where things such as IO overhead become a noticable factor, I know I don't. This implication may have been incorrect and indeed I am not aware of any eg. controller induced IO overhead that comes from a simple two drive configuration so I could be totally wrong.
