Does opening the case void the warranty?

Both of those sound like good options. I am not too bothered about the noise because I will almost always have music playing from either iTunes or a game. And over the past week or so, I've been used to having a desktop fan at full power constantly... plus I switch it off at night so it wouldn't keep me awake. I wonder whether it would be a good idea to get a more powerful one at the expense of noise - which of those types are cheaper?

It would be good to do it myself, yes. Do you have to power the fan from the computer itself or can you power it seperately? Because might the load become too much if I have an extra fan? I don't know much about this stuff at all :p
The power from the fan is coming from the computer. It's connected via the motherboard.
