Alright, this is my first build, so if there is anything I'm forgetting, let me know. I may overclock, but idk because I don't want to ruin anything. I think I'll definitely oc the gpu since evga covers it, but I'll have to see on the rest. If this gets too expensive, I might have to go down and do a Q9550 build. I'm gonna order in just about two weeks.
CPU: Newegg.com - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops - on there it says mobo combo? I'm only seeing a combo with a case, a very expensive case.
GPU: Newegg.com - EVGA 01G-P3-1280-AR GeForce GTX 280 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards - worth the $55 over the 260c216 right?
Mobo: Newegg.com - MSI X58 Platinum LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards or Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards - picked these based on price, more expensive one has extra ram slots, tell me which one or a different one altogether
Ram: Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory picked that because it had 1.65V as opposed to some slightly cheaper ram with 1.5. This is good right?
PSU: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies - Do I need more than 650W?
HDD: Newegg.com - SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives x2 - picked based on price, is raid0 too hard to set up? These ain't loud or something, are they? I don't want a rig that makes a bunch of noise.
Optical Drive: Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache IDE 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe - CD / DVD Burners
Sound card: Recommend something not too much
Case: Newegg.com - RAIDMAX AZTEC ATX-619WB Black/ Silver 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case - Computer Cases - Do you know if I can change the led light color in the bios? If I can I'll buy a logisys light of an alternate color. If not, blue is still good.
Thermal paste: Newegg.com - Tuniq TX-2 Cooling Thermal Compound - Thermal Compound / Grease
OS: Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders - Operating Systems
Mouse: Newegg.com - Logitech G5 2-Tone 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Laser 2000 dpi Mouse - Mouse - not a fan of the looks but I heard it was the best
Keyboard: Newegg.com - Logitech G11 Silver & Black 104 Normal Keys 29 Function Keys USB Standard Gaming Keyboard - Keyboards - I like this one because you don't have to switch keybanks and is $20 cheaper. Convince me to get a g15
Monitor: Recommend something 1920x1200
Speakers: Recommend something that isn't too much
Should I buy a cpu cooler or any more fans? If there is anything I need that I will not be getting with this order, please tell me. I have never built a pc before, so I don't have anything leftover. I've got a screwdriver and a grounding strap, and that is it. I appreciate the opinions
