How do I connect to my WPA secured network with my wireless pci card? when I click connect it says:

*Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. please refresh the list of avalible networks, and try to connect again*

Are you certain that you are connecting to the correct wireless router?

Also, did you connect to your router before WPA was enabled to test the connection?

yep, the routers one room over and it did work before we got WPA and when we had WPA. I formated my hdd and thats why Im doing this now. cuz i lost all the network settings.

*also I used a ethernet cord and the internet works... so its not the router

Not neccesarily. WPA encryption isn't on the wired connection, only the wireless. Check to make sure all of your settings on your workstation match the settings on the router.

is ypur adaptor WPA compatible, many of the adpators around £20 are only WEP
compatible

I have run into a problem.. in wirless network properties on the association tab, im sapposed to set the network authentication to WPA-PSK and the data encryption to TKIP but on my other PC it only has options: open or shared for network authentication and WEP or Disabled for data encryption...
