I stopped using WinZip after Windows 2000. That whole nifty little built-in decompressor is great.

Yeah what shoobie said, WinXP has it's own unzipper so winzip is just another piece of garbage I don't need on my computer.

i like winace and winrar more than any built in decompressor or winzip but eh yeah, does get annoying when i think i dont really need em lol.

The built-in decompressor in Windows is much better than any decompressor application I've ever used. For one, I don't have to use a 3rd party app. Second, the decompressor is already there, so I don't need to fire up anything to open a zip file. Lastly, Window's decompressor is dirt simple. Double-click zip file, which opens a folder where you can see all the files, and work with as normal. If you need to extract the files, simply select, go to edit->CopyTo, select destination, and yer done.

Wow, this thread went from communist bashing to anti-piracy to file compressors.

Anyways, I agree with the idea that they're just cracking down on anti-piracy. I read an article from a person (a westerner) who has lived in China for many years and when he wanted to buy a game, he found it much easier to buy a 50 cent copy from a local peddler than go 2 hours to the nearest city, find someplace that still sells videogames, and choose from a paltry selection (he said 5 games tops, no joke), and then pay through the nose for it.
Don't assume, MST3kGeek, in your right-wing arrogance, that everything a socialist/Marxist nation does is some sort of oppression of its citizens. Remember that the next time you're waiting in a 3 hour line to get your flu shot that the people in Cuba walked in and out in 5 minutes and it was free.

im far from right-wing, but sure, throw the first stone. and i wasnt saying everything is oppression but simply poiting out a few examples. but yeah much appreciated, you calling me arrogant and all.

Heh heh, sorry, just ranting and being kinda silly (no characters for sarcasm yet). I was pretty sure you had some commie-bashing comments, but it must have been from another article (I was browing TechForum and another website at the same time). I probably just got stupid and confused everything. So, in short, imagine me walking slowly away with my tail between my legs and a confused look on my face. So yeah, I agree, un called for, you're not arrogant (that I know of ). Please contribute that to my left wingerness... if that's a word...
