I think its for the most part a gimmick. In building it makes sense but movement your just clicking more than necessary.

Well, they probably click a few more times than necessary when moving, but multiple clicks could help somewhat.

Yeah that's what I thought when I was watching the first part of the vid. Looks like all he's doing is clicking frantically ordering his troops to move to a position again and again lol. But yeah, no doubt that there's some serious skill in that vid.
