BF2 wont install

i formatted and reinstalled vista, came to reinstall BF2 but it gets almost halfway and says installation failed try again from the start? any suggestions?

oh and ive played it before on vista and it has been fine

scratched disk? i had a copy of bf1942 which was scratched and the same sort of thing happened.

my disk was scratched to s***, borrowed my m8s, installed it now i use mine to play it, im surprised it works because they have different product keys

i dont think that matters its just an installation disk...i used my mates disk to install fear on my comp cause my cd was rooted, then i just put my own key in works fine

yeah. so i was right about the scratched disk? as said by joey, the CD and CD key arent linked at all in any way.
