BF2 expansions

Do most people actually use the expansions (which I'm guessing would limit other players online to those using the expansions also)? I'd like to get it, but if I don't have to buy all of the expansions it would be nice. Do they offer any substantial gameplay perks? Are they essential?

Get Special Forces, as it gives you additional weapon unlocks. Euro Force was a flop, and Armored Fury, while the maps are alright and the new vehicles are cool, never took off. Special Forces has maps and all, but the unlocks are what most buy it for.

Thanks! The Deluxe edition (which includes Special Forces) is only about 28 bucks, so I think I'll get that.
