So my 15" PowerBook stopped reading the "lower" memory slot, rendering my massive 512 megs of ram a useless 256.. so I took the computer into my local Apple store, and they're quoting me 1100 for a new Logic Board.. are you f'ing kidding me? This is why apple is trading at like 160 dollars a share. I have gone through 3 iPods, mainly cause I'm stupid enough to keep buying them. ANYWAYS, I searched Logic Boards on google, and I found a refurb for 395 installed with a 6 month warranty.

1100 dollars is outrageous, and of course he immediately tried to just sell us a new laptop. Does anyone know of any good places to get this done? My PowerBook is basically just my toy, and I really don't need a new one. I'd like to have both of my RAM slots working because I have twoX1GB stick of Crucial that I desperately need to get in it. What can I do??
