my browser sometimes says page not found.
this happens randomly, but when it happens is usually down for 5-15 seconds.

then it works fine.

Not sure if its a computer, browser, network issue, software, hardware or what....
???

thanks

Really... odd that it does it randomly. I'm thinking its prolly just a minor conflict with your browser. It might be your connection missing for a second.. DSL tends to do that. So if you h ave DSL my best guess would be that it is DSL.... specially if its yahoo dsl.
i dont thinkt aht helped much sorry. but i really cant think of a program to "randomly" do that. sorry

potentially a DDoS? Maybe some sort of spyware? I know a real DoS would not do it intermitenly, but would completely block you from the net. I'm thinking spyware.

I forget what virus / spyware it was , but my 2 house mates keep on getting it as :-
* They both surf the internet for free porn
* They both surf the internet with out an antivirus package.

They could access the home network, but they could not do any thing with the internet.

I think it was some thing called Backdoor.trojan. I could be wrong. In the end, it was simplier to format, re-install Windows.

exactly Harper, I have seen similar in the past, easier to format and reinstall Windows than to trace it down

P.S. sad to see Andromeda go eh?

Season 5 has been a bit of a drag, how ever the last few episodes have been really interneting. I am not going to loose any sleep if they do not do Season 6.

One last thing, when you back up the data, make sure scan the data for virus, and the machine you scanned it on.
Like my 2 house mates where just continuely passing the same virus in between each other's PC.

well, I loaded/ran Counter Spy and it seems to work

Lots of "cookies" that get marked as spyware, etc.

QUESTION:
It also found a file "infectected" with spyware.... i guess it infected a file on my harddrive. I didn't know spyware infected files like a virus does.

anyway, it seemed to work

thank
