if AMD can get the price down and do it before Intel gets really rolling with the 65nm process chips they may be able to hold off Intel for quite awhile..........Im not counting on it though

Eh my X2 3800+ wasnt that much. Also AMD is to into their M2 line to worry about Intels 65nm process. Hopefully the M2 line will be better than those.

Price vs Peforamance AMD is still cheaper.
 
but 2 pentium d's working together will beat 1 X2 and do so for less money........and when your setting up multiprocessor systems this means something

multiprocessor systems are likely to get more prevalent in the near future, its isnt just gonna be dual cores for much longer, dual dual core and quad dual core boards are already being sold

AMD has been kinda quiet about their roadmap as of late, Intel hasnt, they have some powerful stuff coming out and a pretty aggressive line up in the works
