Hello,
Sorry if this question is a little remedial. I searched and found nothing that solved my problem.
I bought a WD Raptor and would like to run my OS (XP) and a few programs (photoshop, etc.) off the raptor while keeping all my docs and infrequently used programs on the hard drive that came with my Gateway. The Raptor is SATA; the bigger, slower hard drive is IDE.
I'm having a **** of a time figuring out the easiest way to set this up. For one thing, I don't have a true xp disc - I have the recovery disc that came with my gateway. And for another, I'm not sure how to set the jumpers on the ide drive. Will I have to reformat the IDE drive as well, then reload all the documents, media, etc.? Basically, what should my gameplan be here?
Thanks,
Nestor
