I was in another forum where they said that, and then at some PSU website. But I was wrong, no need to keep on it. We found what it really is, Power Factor Correction.

Someone in that forum said the difference between active PSU (I thought maybe someone wrote PFC instead of PSU wrongly) and passive psu was the cooling. Avtice with fans, passive without.

Anyway, I was, as I said, grossely misinformed.
