I was just wondering, with the current set up in my sig..

How would my 32bit XP compare performance wise with Vista 64 + like 4G or 6G of RAM instead of the 2

would there be a noticeable difference in terms of gaming (crysis, TF2) and general use (web browsing, photoshop)

Thanks!

Windows XP 64 bit might not be able to see all of your 4gb's of ram.
Vista 64 bit can fully see it and put that extra gb of ram to good use.
I haven't installed crysis on my pc, because my computer coudn't handle it, but just by looking at your setup you should have no problems running that game on vista.
I'll let somebody else be the the judge on crysis.
Other every day normal computer use like you mentioned you should be able to breeze right through it, not unless a problem occurs on your pc.

Hope that helps you out some.

You'll be able to play Crysis using Vista64 and your present setup. Are you going to be able to play at the same settings as you do in WinXP (dx9)? Maybe, but probably not. Running Crysis in dx10 mode is going to strain your 8800 GTS more than dx9 mode. You'll probably have to lower a few settings to play at the same resolution.

I suggest you try out the new Windows7 RC 64bit. It's free for a year and from my experience it plays most games in dx10 mode as fast as WinXP.
