New os and computer help!

Hey, im new to this forum but im stuck on something
We currently have 2 computers. One with running XP with installed programs and users but is rarely used. The other runs Win7 32bit. What I want to do is install win7 on the computer with xp, then move all files from the win7 computer to the one with xp. What is the best way to go around this?

What are the specs of the XP machine? I ask because if it is an old PC (say 4 to 5 years old) it may not run windows 7. Are you going to continue using the other PC?

Do you have another license to install Win7 on that machine? If not then you need to purchase another license before you can do this. 1 License = 1 PC.
