Documents can't open

Hello,

a few days ago by mistake my laptop got reinstalled with Windows XP 64-- instead of just a simple repair modus with WINDOWS XP HOME wich i asked for.

And i was lucky that i made a back-up of a part of the information i had on the laptop the day before, but the guy installed by keep the information of the previous XP installation. So i still have my documents under c:/documentsandsettings BUT i can't open the map ! it says acces is denied

Extra info: At the moment Windows XP PRO is installed and the documents are still under c:/documentsandsettings - The original OS was WINDOWS XP HOME. But i don't have the install cd's atm.
If i would install home edition again does that mean i have acces again to this map ?

I really hope to get the documents back and that someone here can help me.

That will tell you how to take back ownership of files and folders from within XP.

thanks a lot !!! it worked i am so happy i have everything back !!!!

Edit: Thanks to TuneUp utilities 2006 i also had a registry back-up on C: so everything is working again
