Compaq Laptop Booting From USB

A Compaq Presario CQ 62-219WM laptop recently came into my possession. The laptop does not have a hard drive, and I want to know if it's possible to boot the laptop from a external USB hard drive. Any information you have may help. Cheers!​

You can get a HDD yourself. Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BPVT 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive

You cannot run Windows on a external HDD. You can, however, run Linux on it.
