**UPDATE**
okay, I decided to remove the old thermal compound, and clean up the CPU and heatsync. After doing that, I reapplied new thermal compound and turned my computer on.
The CPU fan now stays on, and it seems like the computer is staying running fine. BUT, it won't post. I tried hooking up a keyboard and hitting "delete" to try to get into bios but that didn't work either.
I reset the jumpers again.
Also, I noticed that when I turned on the computer with the keyboard plugged in the 3 lights in the upper right (caps lock, num lock, and f lock) are flashing. All 3 flash green, then all 3 turn off, then all 3 flash green, etc... Does anyone know what that means?
