Default Vista or XP?

Hey I'm looking for some help picking my OS. I'm getting a new gaming rig, but I can't seem to decide between Vista Home or XP SP3 Home. I'm going to be playing a lot of games on the new rig and I was leaning towards Vista because it supports more than 4GB RAM plus it has DX10. A big question I have is, can I transfer files via a flash drive from a computer with XP on it, to my computer with Vista on it? The other question I have is simple: which OS would you guys recommend? Thanks a lot!!

Alright cool. I know there's SP1 and I think SP2 is coming soon right? When I buy Vista is it automatically upgraded to SP1 or do I have to do that myself? I'm going to be ordering the 64-bit off of Newegg. And is SP2 going to be really good?

Sp2 won't be anything major, but it should be a good service pack.

Mak would know more about SP2, lol. SP2 will end up being an update you can get later...and when you get Vista SP1, it's bundled.

yeah, it's just about as expensive as vista though, so IMO it makes no sense to buy it.

A notice to EVERYONE who has posted here with a computer problem, I highly encourage you to keep current with the forums, even if it's browsing for 10-15 minutes during lunch, or before you go to bed at night. There are many things that you can learn and apply to future issues. My goal is to help people get to a point where they can use their own knowledge to help themselves, and others.

Also please use the search button. You've got a 50/50 chance that someone's asked your question and we've answered it.
