Hey, the reason why I made this thread was because I had a few questions. Now I would have done more research but I need to order all the computer parts I picked out soon. So I figured Id better post here to see if their all compadable. I would rather be safer than sorry...

So, I wanted to build a new gaming computer( A higher end one)
so I can play games like Crysis and Alan Wake.
All the parts I'm listing below came to about $900.00 and I dont really want to go over that with other stuff. Ok, so heres the list, if you want me to add any more info just tell me.

Ok, so thats what I was Planning on getting. I have a BFG Geforce 7800GT Graphics Card in my other computer that I'm Planning on putting in this. But I was looking to upgrade the graphics card a little later. I also have a dvd-rw drive I can use.

Does Every thing look ok for what I listed?

I also had a few other questions:
Do I need any extra fans for somthing like the CPU? Or is the stock one good? I heard the Cpu needs Greese or a thermal pad, do the Cpu's normally come with that stuff?

I have also been hearing that you should wear a ant-static wrist band? Is that really necesary?

And for the last question I wanted to know if theres any thing I should look out for?(That I could Possibly make a mistake and fry my whole computer) I keep hearing all these horror story about peoples whole compters frying. Does it really happen that often?

Like I said before, Sorry I couldnt do more research into all this stuff. I just need to order these soon and I thought it would be best and quickest if I posted this here. If any one could help me out I would apreciate it.

All the parts look good to me.

If you are going to be oveclocking then I would look into a aftermarket CPU fan and thermal paste, but otherwise the stock fan and paste that come with your processor will be fine.

You probably should wear an anti-static wristband, but I don't really think its necessary. Just make sure you're not building it on carpet and you discharge yourself periodically throughout the process and you will be fine.

If you want to play newre games like Crysis and ALan Wake, you are prolly going to have to get a video card. SOmehting tells me the intel onboard is not going to handle those games very well (if at all).

He said he's using his 7800GT out of his old pc for now ;)

And for your info, the on-board graphics wouldnt run them at all, if it did it would be un-playable!
