Question 9800's SLI or gtx 275?

Would two 9800 GTX+ in SLI be better than one GTX 275 or are 9800's too old to compete anymore.

I would get neither, as they're both more expensive right now than the ATi equivalent. For the price of a GTX275 you can get am HD5850, which is a great deal faster (they prices are similar in the UK - might not be elsewhere).

The 5850 Yami advised would be your best choice.

+1 to the 5850. XFX is a good brand, usually cheap and double lifetime warranty.

It looks as though the 9800gtx+ sli would be a bit better. But as they said the 5xxx series is the only series atm.

isn't nvidia better as far as overclocking. I've heard that they can be pushed further easier and safer than ATI from the factory.

Hmm don't think so, pretty sure Nvidia cards; even gt200 series, run hotter then ATI's 5xxx.

Both have their pros and cons, but right now the 5850 is a better choice (DX11, will be supported longer, etc)

The 5850 runs cooler than the 275 as well. If you really want nVidia, go for the 275.
