Thats good to know. I was about to get a 6600GT. Should I go for the 7600GS or the GT? Also how much of a difference does a 128MB and a 256Mb 7600 card make?
GT is always the better performing card. the GS series was introduced with the 6800gs which turned out to be cheaper and a better overclocker. don't think that is true of the 7600gs although i haven't looked into it. the 7600gs should be better than the 6600gt.
true the 7600gs is better but you can not just cite this as the reason, its completely one dimensional. clock speed is also a factor. it is to be noted that the 6600gt (from nVIDIA reference cards) is 500mhz and the 7600gs (from reference also) is 400mhz. this would almost be like comparing an AMD athlon 3200+ to a 3.8ghz p4 and saying the AMD is better for the 14 stage pipeline. just remember there is more than one factor.......yes the 7600gs is better
