your total memory would be 1.5 gigs.

some motherboards (all of the new ones) support dual channel ram. for dual channel ram to work, you have to have either 2 or 4 of the exact same type of ram. same speed, timings, etc. if the ram is not identitcal, then you'll still have that much ram, it just won't run in dual channel mode. i'm not entirely sure how dual channel works, but its supposed to be better because ram acts like its twice as fast.. or something weird like that.. anyways.. with you, you have a somewhat old motherboard, so dual channel might not apply to you at all, and having 1.5 gigs is good. if your motherboard does support dual channel, it would be good to have your ram running in dual channel mode... (but not a must)
