Best anti-virus software for its bucks???

Well, I actually use Free version. And as far as I saw they don't offer lifetime at all, only 1-year licenses.

Maybe it's me but I hated the interface for NOD32.

I've had and Nod 32 for years now and still use it. I'll agree it's not the prettiest gui but I don't think it's all that bad either. I rarely need to see it because once it's set up, you can forget it for a while (until the next upgrade. The newest is now version 7, and yes....they still have that "bot dude")

Aye, MSE for free ain't so bad. It's not as full featured as many but it's slim, has decent protection with augmented AMB and host files. Personally I use Trend 2014 which is about to expire. Very good AV and I have not yet decided if I will go free or re-up again.
