Wireless Networking

I have a LINKSYS WUSB54G USB 1.1/2.0 Wireless Adapter, and want to get another wireless adapter so I can network my two computers together. My question is do the wireless adapters have to be the same brand to connect to each other?????

No they dont need to be the same brand, just the same type.

They have to support the same wireless protocol.

Just make sure they both support 802.11A, 802.11B or 802.11G or some combination of the three.

Your WUSB54 is and 802.11g device, so make sure the other computer also has an 802.11g device.
