What are the nic manufautures and the same for your switch?
We use a mix of stuff at my work, and some of the 3Com and Cisco switches will only talk at 10. Sounds like you might be having the same problem. Ussually the issue has to do with the way the traffic is coming off the switch, IE it is sending at 10 normal each port and only pretends to use 100 or the autosense isn't working properly. I know that the intel nics in some of our machines work great on any setting/config. Autodetect works like a charm.
