Does Thunderbird save emails?

I'm using thunderbird and I just switched ISPs. Will the emails I had from my previous ISP mail account still be there when I switch to my new account? I think Thunderbird saves all emails but just wanted to make sure.

I don't use Thunderbird, but I'm pretty sure it will not delete the mails.
Just go to accounts and change your pop/smtp server addresses and it will download new e-mails to your inbox, and the old mails should stay right there as well.
