I recently purchased a Actiontec wireless adapter 802uig-1. I am placing this USB adapter on a hp pavilion 8240 desktop with windows se. I am trying to access my Actiontec gateway. After about 10 hours with Actiontec support I was able to connect. The next day I started the computer and no go. The Adapter sees the wireless signal and has a diagnostic That says Failed to "Communicate to NIC" and failed to" Check for Association" and Passed for "check ip default vs DHCP assigned ip" and Passed "Check for other networks" The last thing that made it work was we changed the USB port, the computer has two. I spent another day with Actiontec and Qwest who sent me a new Gateway (that works fine, and is set up for wireless). Any Ideas??
