I heard a rumor that Windows Vista will have a gaming mode. This mode basically makes your pc a console only running specific processes required to play the game video drivers audio drivers and a few others. In doing so all your PC's juice is going only to the game. Is this possible?
The main resaon for this post is, is there something like this already avalible? A download that i can find to do just that. I just got F.E.A.R. and i want it to run perfect maxed out but i need more juice.

I'm running a:
PCI-E mobo
3.4ghz P4 with HT
1gb DDR2
512 MB single Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra card

Which is still not enough to run it smoothly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I heard that too a while ago, but I don't think it is out now, nor anything like it. My best offer would be if you could get the game for some console.

I see

IS there any way i can improve the game performance wise? Doom 3 had a cache "hack" where you could change that amount of ram it uses from like 128kb to almost all that you have.

I almost have the game setting maxed but well it still doesn'r run too smooth, smooth enough for ok playing but I need perfection.
I intend to add 2-3 gigs more DDR2 in the very near future.

Any help would be wonderful and very much appreciated.
