I am having an issue that I can not figure out.
I noticed on 11/21 my (integrated) speakers had stopped working. Everything I wanted to listen to I had to wearing headphones (headphones jack still works). I tried reinstalling the audio driver (because I have past experience of the driver miraculously disappearing and have tried updating the driver to no avail (indeed headphones still work).
The other day however, I ran the Dell Diagnostic (Restarted computer and ran it through my thumb drive before Windows started up), and the speakers worked perfectly fine. So despite what I had feared, my speakers work, just not with XP and not within the past 2 weeks (despite my headphones still working). If I plug external speakers into the headphone jack they work, the only audio output that doesn't work is my integrated speakers and that is only in Windows XP, though I haven't tried them in other operating systems, just the Dell Diagnostic.
Anyway, here are some specs I suppose I should post, if there is anything else I need to let me know.
Windows XP Pro
Dell Inspiron 1520
SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio (my audio driver I believe)
