I recorded a 5 hour set into my PC saturday night. At about 3 hours into it the minutes went up to 5000 on the PC recorder. Well, after I get home today, I try to open the file but it won't play. I can't bring it up in Cool Edit Pro, either. But if I right click and check the properties, it says it's 2.80 gigs.

Is there any way I can save the file?

i never dealt with wav files that size, but it could be that programs have a hard time playing them at that size.
try cuting it into small peices or convert it to mp3 HeadAC3he or another program.
with HeadAC3he it will tell you if there are errors with the wav.

HeadAC3he didn't recognise it. 20 other .wav splitters and .mp3 encoders didn't recognise it either.

One program DID notice this: the size of the file said "-1224.60MB", but when right-clicking the file it says it's 2.80gigs.

Any way to salvage this huge .wav file?
