Could some one please help ,iv been trying to put .avi files onto dvd using dvd santa but a few files wont burn and it comes a with a error and then closes these .AVI files only work using VLC does any one know how to fix this

thx

in order for a video file to play on a dvd player it has to be in the proper dvd format, and it isnt .avi

mpeg2 with either ac3 or mpeg2 audio, 720x480 resolution, 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio and frame rate of either 23.76 or 29.97 I believe for NTSC standards(north america or japan)

you need to convert the avi to mpeg, then author that into a dvd file before it can be burned

http://www.videohelp.com/tools

I use gui4ffmpeg to do the avi to mpeg conversion

then look up dvdstyler to make the dvd

then use whatever you want to burn the disc

there a quite few choices, the above are freeware and I know they work

I just save them/burn them as a 'data' file as is (in .avi format) and they play fine in my DVD player that is .divx compatable.
