Soundblaster audigy mp3 card

Can anyone explain why I would have a sound increase after I restart my computer. I downloaded the latest driver from soundblaster, and that is when it started. I am running xp. Thanking you in advance

Rollback the driver to confirm that it was the driver-update to be the cause.

If not then maybe you better start hunting through all your installed software to see if its resetting your volume upon startup (like musicmatch can when you turn it on)

If so, was it nessecary to update it at all?
I like keeping to the rule "If it ain broke, dont fix it"

"sound increase"---do you have outboard gear attached? (sometimes the "loop" created by connecting an outside amp or something, and then connecting it back through can cause this....)
