Finally buying headphones, going for HD555

Thanks for taking the time to view my topic.

Well.. after many many times of thinking about buying some nice +$20 headphones im almost certain I'll be getting some this time.

I am really looking at the HD555 and I like my music with hard-hitting lows, decent mids and crisp highs. Ive been looking at alot of headphones and the HD555's look like the best phones for the $100-140 price range. I play alot of games but I know that almost any nice headphone will do fine with games.

I am also concerned that i might need an amp, would these headphones be ok for and xfi xtrememusic sound card?

Are you talking about those headphones? If so then from reading that review it doesnt look like and kind of Amp is needed.

no, an amp is not needed. A soundcard will do just fine.

I have the 485's, they are seriously good.
