You won't want to use the old client on newer multi core processors.

You will want to use the SMP text console. version Number 5.91 Beta.

The old Client:
is Slower
Less intense
Work units are Worth less points
Does not take advantage of Multiple cores.
 
Got a link to it? 2.95ghz no go on boot, running at 2.9ghz now. This cpu is definately a little workhorse for only 90 bucks.
 
Ya, but i'm trying to get the max OC on stock voltage, i'm going to test out this whole "burn in" theory. Of course i know i cant overclock on stock voltage, remember my 3.6ghz quad :p
 
Yes, well I hate to rain on your parade, but SMP Folding is alot more sensitive than some stress testing programs. Therefore what may be stable in orthos (Or whatever you use) may not be in SMP Folding.
 
ok question to all who fold... if i Fold... and it doesn't finish a WU, can i close Fold@Home and then continue in the same place?
