case aint very good

review for eVGA 6600gt

Fantastic card, this is the best card you can buy for the money. With this card I play games like Half Life 2 1280x1024-max settings, Doom 3-1280x1024 High Quality, and Call of Duty 1280x1024-max settings. All of theses games run at 60fps+ on avg., and this is without oc. I am thrilled with this card, and new egg is the best for having it the cheapest!!! Without a doubt I recommend this card for any gamer on a budget.

Diablo, that's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Along those lines is probably your best bet castro.
I don't like aspire's setup at all. The CPU is too powerful and the video card is too weak. It's not a very balanced system at all. And the audigy 2 value is just crap, trust me you don't want value stuff, you want the audigy 2 ZS.

Anyway the case is going to be disaggreed on probably because with cases there is a lot of variance and you have to decide for yourself what case you think looks best and also has the best cooling (very important). I will now take the time to suggest a more in-depth system.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-K8N Ultra-9 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra

$142.00

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8GHz Winchester
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-501&depa=1
$146.00

RAM: Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series Dual Channel Kit (512MBx2) DDR PC-3200
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...145-450&depa=1
$162.00

Video Card: Connect3D ATI RADEON X850 XT

$449.00

Hard Drive: Hitachi 80GB 7200RPM SATA II Hard Drive
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-145-075&depa=1
2 of these in RAID 0 (super fast dual hard drive setup, in case you didn't know )2X$71.99 = $143.98

Power Supply: Antec NeoPower 480 Watt
http://www.xoxide.com/antec-neopower-480.html
$114.99

Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-178&depa=1
$69.99

Floppy Drive: SONY Beige 1.44MB 3.5Inch Floppy Disk Drive
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-103-109&depa=0
$10.00

Case: MAXTOP Signature Series Type II Mid Tower
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-150-017&depa=1
$36.50

Total (+.99 shipping per piece per special newegg deal going on right now):
$1274.46

Oh yea and btw, this computer would completely own. That video card is currently the 2nd most powerful card on the market. Second only to the x850 xt platinum edition.

your probly saving about 200-300 dollars maybe more

dale and you think your setup is balanced... hello 140dollar cpu and a 450 dollar gfx card thats even more unbalanced than mine

gosh you people are all hippocrits

3500+ and a 6600gt ooooo way unbalanced

3000+ and a x850xt perfect balance

that was sarcasm in case you didnt realize it
i mean wtf?!?!?!?!
