Well all those games you just mentioned are games that striaght gamers play alright. I know the best XP is the 3200 witch runs on a 2.2ghz 400mhz fsb 512kb cache.
If your counting on a AMD XP for gaming without a cooling system. You might have some problems, unless you have a monster video card and Ram.
Personally i recommend you get a Athlon 64 bit, (socket 939). For gaming, or atleast Athlon 64 bit socket 754. AMD XP arent cut out for the hardcore gamer unless you really over clock it. 400mhz FSB is really weak. So i do not recommend any pc gamer to go with a AMD XP.
The Athlon 64 2800+ witch runs at 1.6ghz 1600fsb 128kb L1 Cache 512kb L2 cache is a nice processor. You can buy it for around 130-140$. The Athlon 64 2800 markets it at 1.8ghz but its really 1.6ghz.
