Buying a Laptop for College

Go Intel, that's the only advice I can offer. The Pentium M and Yonah mobile CPU's offer excellent performance, and don't use that much energy. I'd suggest the Macbook Pro, awesome multimedia setup (even decent gaming), great price too for what you get. Or you could go with HP, just avoid Dell at all costs.
 
grab a Toshiba, good battery life, performance etc, I played AOE 3 on my uncles with 70% battery life for 2 hours before it went into power save mode
