Help with first computer build.

Im looking to build a compter that is a fairly decent one i curently have a compaq presario sr1200nx i dont know if i want to update it and get a new graphics card or what. I have a limmited budget of about $400 so pleasse help.

I don't think its really upgradeable. Only thing would be a pci gfx card. And possibly more ram. If possible in your budget, i would do the following upgrade, you would need a new case,mobo,psu, operating system, more ram, new gfx card, which might cost more than $400.

It probably isn't worth it to upgrade your current PC, you need to build a new comp. Its going to be very hard on a $400 budget though, especially if you need a new monitor, and its going to be impossible if you want a new LCD monitor.
