upgrade laptop

So, I have a compaq laptop, pentium III 833 Mhz, hard disk 60 Gb, 256 MB RAM, windows XP home edition.
I want to upgrade memory to 512 MB. Any suggestions on brands for memory?
Also, is there any way I could upgrade to more Mhz, instead of 833, I mean, to make the computer faster?

I believe you are stuck with your curremt processer unless you are willing to replace your motherboard.(better off trading up )

As for the brand of RAM; look whats in it already,if it has served you well buy that if you can get a good deal.............
