old laptop: p3 or celeron?

and yah.. i really do need a laptop. sure, i could put my old pc next to the tv to watch movies and whatnot easily.. but the thing is.. my woman wants one, so i "need" one, and i'm trying to make myself believe that i want one too.. it's best that way.

lol ok, I can understand that I guess, but I wouldn't use my laptop to play movies like that. I played one move on it and the temp on the outside of the laptop must have been 110-120F around the cpu and cd drive, when I was transfering files to this machine the harddrive would get 100+ in about 20 minites of transfering. I'd hate to see the temps inside the case. Theres people on tf that have burned out laptop hd's. When they took the hd out, the slot was blackened.

Laptops are useful little tools, that are sometimes suprizingly useless.
