Help with building a computer

I have trouble with this new computer that I just built. Its a K9A2 Platinum motherboard and I plugged everything in correctly and all the fans spin but when I start it up it makes all the noises it should but I get no post on the monitor and my Thermaltake armor jr case only has a red light on and not a blue light.

Like in this picture http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/ttarmorjr/img/2.jpg it has both lights on but mines only has the red one on.

This has happend to me before, and it turned out to be a bad stick of RAM.
How many sticks to you have? you could switch them around using only one at a time in slot one.
are you using onboard video? (forgive me for not research your board to see if it has intergrated or not) I realize that this is extremely basic, but have you made sure everything is seated correctly?
Secondly you should probably make sure the video card (if you are using one) is compatible. By that I mean I have heard of some SLI cards not working on motherboards not supporting SLI <--something to that effect
Was the motherboard used? have you reset the BIOS?

Are you trying to use SATA and IDE at the same time?
