Battery woes

laptop is listed in the sig. Made a big mistake getting a powerhouse p4 with widescreen in a laptop. The battery lasts me an hour if I'm lucky. The problem is I want to take my laptop to class but it doesnt last long enough to make it through. Is there anyway to get more life out of my battery by turning down settings I don't need in class? All I've done so far is turn down the brightness, it didnt help.

is your optical drive modular? meaning, can you take it out?

on some of the ones with modular bays, you can put a second battery in there

nope can't take it out.....is there anyway to tone down the processor or something else so it doesnt eat up so much power??

most laptops throttle down when running on battery power rather than external from a wall socket

You could try finding a wall socket in the class, then you won't need a battery, or just buy another battery.

yeah i think im just going to get another battery for those times where a wall socket is not in reach

its hard to find powerful laptops these days....... but yea get that battery
