Hey everyone,
Im trying to put a computer back together from parts I have laying around. I get the computer altogether and ready to install windows but before I can get there it give me a message "Reboot & select proper boot device or Insert media in selected boot device. Also my cd ram wont open when you hit the eject button or do anything of the sort unless you have the data cable unplug from it. Can anyone help?

Get a new CD Drive. This one is dead. If plugging in the data cable shuts it down it is of no use. Only way to fix it would be to open it up and see if you can find what is wrong with it. Much cheaper to go to WalMart and buy a new one for $20.
