all I did was give 2 people advice in an attempt to stop a problem before it begun
posts like the above are often the first shots fired in a flame war
flame wars are often a result of one misunderstanding another's post, or simply doesn't agree to the other person's opinion, and try to abuse them for it. the person on the other side will abuse them back, then he will throw some more insults in, others will join in and abuse one of them, another will abuse another, and before you know it a flame war has begun. when a mod sees the thread, they will lock it, and the result will be a lot of angry people.
just try to understand the other person's point of view, and by all means question them if you don't understand, but don't abuse them just because you don't share the same opinion.
