Thanks all!

I just thought I ought to pop in here and say thanks to all for the advice. I decided to go with a C2D 6400, which was the most I could afford, and overclock when I had things running stable.

I have to say, I'm astounded by the improvement in speed from P4 3Ghz- and Windows Vista loads and closes in seconds.
